Fort Hill Cemetery

Located in Macon (Macon-Bibb County, Georgia), Fort Hill Cemetery is a historically significant city cemetery as it is the oldest one in the county. Fort Hill is located on Short Street bordered by Mitchell Street to the north, Clarks Lane to the south, Bowman Street to the east, and Norris Street to the west. There are some additional plots located across Norris St. outside of the cemetery fence.


Date of visit: 31 October 2020


Care of the cemetery is the responsibility of Macon-Bibb County. The cemetery is currently in fair to poor condition with many sunken markers, grave damage, and brickwork lying scattered about.



Burials date from approximately 1806 to present.
